You've signed all the papers and
completed your transaction with the
CarQuotes dealership. Now, comes the
really exciting time - you're handed the
keys to your new car! Your first
inclination is to jump in the driver's
seat and speed away. But, a few words of caution: before you leave the dealership take some time to look over your new car purchase and make sure you understand how to operate the various controls. You may
even want to put together a checklist of
things to review before you pick up your
car, so that in your excitement you
won't forget to check some important
aspects of the vehicle.
First, look over the exterior of the
car. Examine the exterior from all
sides, looking for scratches or any
abnormalities that should be taken care
of. Is everything securely attached to
the car (ornaments, hub, caps, etc.)?
Look over the tires. Are they all
identical and does the tire pressure
appear to be appropriate? This would be
a good time to ask what the current
pressure is supposed to be.
Test all the exterior lighting: the
headlights, high-beams, turn signals,
brake lights and reverse lights. Now,
check out the vehicles interior. Again,
look for scratches, or any other
abnormalities on the dashboard or on the
upholstery and ceiling. Are the windows,
stereo, windshield wipers, mirrors, seat
belts and door handles operational? Do
all the door close properly and tightly?
Next, make sure you completely
understand the operation of the heater,
defroster, and air conditioning. You
want to know how to set your favorite
radio stations, how the cassette and CD
work, and, an understanding of all the
other functions and controls. Take your
time, review everything, and most
importantly, ask questions if you are
unsure of something.
When you leave the new car dealer you should feel comfortable that everything looks great and is in proper working order. |
